Many parts of the book were beautifully written, inspirational,and helpful, but there were also parts of the book that were very abstract, repetitive, and could be considered frustrating for someone who is a novice in their prayer life/5.

But. The Silent Land is one of the few books I've read in its entirety in one sitting. Stirring up a number of emotions (happiness, sadness, fear, anxiety -- to name a few) Joyce does an amazing job at bringing you into the story.
